Bryan has secured a new lawyer from Venezuela (I have to fight the urge to type that out as “vuvuzela”).
Shit like this is why Bryan needs a fiduciary or really, an entire legal guardian appointed over his life. He’s going to continually to piss away thousands of dollars on lawyers for fruitless and pointless legal endeavors that do not meaningfully help him.
Candy Court Case Update:
Her court date on 2/4 was (as I thought it would be) just an arraignment. Candy is discarding all sensible advice given to her and pleading not guilty.
Candy seems to actually think believe is not guilty because Darnell is the one who (supposedly – I don’t know) phoned Gretna PD to tell them about her.
Even if Darnell did phone it it and even if Darnell told lies about Candy burglarizing the library, Candy was not charged with burglary and Darnell’s bad intentions regarding Candy doesn’t give her a “get out of jail” card for the trespassing charges or resisting arrest charges which are valid and documented on her own YouTube channel.
It’s not even a “I didn’t realize..” sort of thing, she was literally GIVEN A WARNING by the police about being on the library grounds weeks prior to this.
Candy also claims that she was offered another deferred prosecution which seems surprising given she violated the earlier deferred prosecution – very generous of the prosecution if so. Not sure if I misunderstood Candy (I was watching at about 2.5x speed).

Candy was filming outside the library after hours, again, so someone called the police on her (probably the person in the blue car), one officer comes to tell her she can’t be there, Candy walks away to the sidewalk, and then wo more officers come to assess her mental state and try to convince her to consent to a psychiatric hold (although they come short of forcing her to get evaluated).

I strongly suspect that the person in the blue car is a library employee who was specifically there to keep an eye out for Candy filming on the premises after hours.

Candy had so little supper money the other night that she could only order the plain rice to go along with her roasted Duck à l’orange, salad, and leek soup.

Number of times in the past decade that I could afford to eat at a restaurant fancy enough to serve “duck à l’orange”: zero.
Granted, I don’t live in a world culinary capital like New Orleans but I live not so far from a city where there are a decent amount of rich and powerful individuals so there are classy French restaurants to go to if I could afford it.
To be fair, this looks more like a Chinese restaurant (or some kind of Asian place). The fake wood table, the bottle of Soy sauce, the packets of Sweet’N Low, and the plastic water cup do not scream high end restaurant. I know Candy likes Chinese food; she’s filmed herself being kicked out of one before and calling the owners racists.
That being said, this duck does look like it was prepared well and looks quite appetizing! But to me this looks more like one of the ducks you might see in hanging in a meat case at a Cantonese-style Chinese restaurant. I do see a bit of an orange glow but I don’t think it’s actually a French-style “orange duck” (and the pictures online of that type of duck seem to show it served with orange slices which I do not see here). Plus the rice and random thing of (possibly pickled) vegetables on the side is very Asian.

Candy of course does spend her money frivolously. As a normal rule I would not ever criticize a poor person for occasionally eating something “nice” once in a while. Candy spends money like its going out of style. She was enough of a regular at Landry’s Seafood for the bartender to recognize her as she was being walked out. Her average DoorDash meal is probably $30 (or more) once you include all the fees and she gets those quite often (several times a week at least, when she’s in a hotel).
You’re probably right, I didn’t think it was a Chinese/Asian place because the rice looked too plain but I suppose I’m just a “fried rice with everything” kind of guy when it comes to my rare Chinese restaurant takeout orders.
Assuming it cost under $20, I suppose it’s not as galling thn it would have been if she had gone to a French restaurant while begging for money online (although I still haven’t had a meal that cost over $20 per person since Christmas).

The Jefferson Parish Sheriffs paid another visit to Candy on 02/15. I believe this is the West Bank Jefferson Parish Library again. Candy took exception to the fact that they came at 21m33s into the video because of the “33” (in a tweet: https://x.com/CreoleTargeted/status/1890975141414281339)
I don’t think Candy’s exactly lying about the librarian saying that she could use the Wifi but I’m almost certain that either Candy asked a confusing question that the librarian didn’t fully grasp or Candy misunderstood the answer.
Yes, of course the library encourages people who can’t afford expensive mobile data plans to use their wifi. It’s one of the basic roles of a modern library. But they wouldn’t knowingly encourage Candy to use the library wi-fi after hours, there are safety and sanitary concerns in regards to the library exterior becoming a homeless hangout that the library wouldn’t want to be liable in any way for.
And I think the police officer is right, the people in the cars are likely either library employees or other people waiting to pick up library employees. Candy should be fully aware that many library employees are still working for a while after closing time for basic duties like re-shelving books and magazines that were left on tables around the library, processing new books to be shelved, setting up or taking down displays, and perhaps some light cleaning like vacuuming.
Yeah Candy seems to think when the library is closed to patrons that it should be closed to staff as well, and that any staff still on premises ought to be charged with trespass if she is considered trespassing.
Would be funny if the library had the WiFi automatically shut off after the library closes (some WiFi access systems can do that). Candy would have a massive hissy fit over it.

The police who work for the parish have access to the phone number for the library administrator who also works for the parish so they know full well that they’re talking to the real administrator and not some random online troll pretending to be an administrator.

Bryan is having some back and forth with a representative of the VA. He was posting bits and pieces of this conversation without any context so I didn’t understand the significance until today. What he posted earlier was a demand that they cease contacting him or his relatives and that he was no longer in the United States (a lie, since he was back in New York).
What this was about is that the VA is trying to appoint a fiduciary to manage his benefits. I’m still researching how all this works but basically the VA can determine that you’re too incompetent to manage your own benefits in your own best interest and can appoint somebody to manage your money for you.

It sounds like a minor version of what happened to Britney Spears where a guardian was appointed to manage all aspects of her life as this only applies to his VA benefits and nothing else.

One mino little issue, even ignoring that Bryan left Uruguay pretty much as soon as his temporary asylum status was granted and tried applying for asylum in other countries. Even though I only have Sesame Street-level Spanish, I can understand enough to understand that “Esta constancia tiena una validez de 6 meses.” means “This certificate is valid for 6 months” and that temporary asylum granted on “2 de agosto de 2024” probably expired on “2 de febrero de 2025”, which was two days ago as of this writing. Of course. I remember that Bryan was stuck in Sweden for over four out of six of those months (even though he could’ve avoided all that by not asking for asylum at the airport, going straight back to New York City, and getting a ticket fo another country outside of the Schengen Area to get to Russia), but he certainly didn’t seem very interested in returning to Uruguay until he was being held at the Swedish migrant facility.

Sweden sent “handlers” (for lack of a better term) to deliver Bryan back to the United States to make sure he made it to the passport checkpoint.
I’m not saying Bryan isn’t a entitled prick who had no business applying for asylum but what sort of authority do these people think they have? In the airport on foreign soil they don’t have any sort of authority to force Bryan through a checkpoint if he doesn’t want to go. If Bryan wants to lounge around in the airport (within reason), pick up a newspaper, get a bite to eat, that’s well within the allowable conduct of the airport.
It might be the case (we’ll see if Bryan posts any updates) that they have pre-arranged to meet some American officials in the terminal to hand him off but outside of that, I certainly don’t think Bryan HAS to cross the border if he doesn’t want to.
This is more of a theoretical discussion because Bryan’s ticket to Uruguay requires him to depart from JFK but he’s in Newark (EWR) so he will have to go through the passport checkpoint to get to JFK.
