“Police are well-trained to deal with non-compliant unarmed subjects. (The trigger happy cops you hear about on the news are rare exceptions.) At worst, a taser or bean bags will be involved but, more likely, he’ll just be wrestled down by two or three cops.”
Looks like a I did a “predictive programming”. 😉
(Just kidding about the “predictive programming” part, it was something that was easy to predict the way he had been escalating his threats over the past couple of weeks.)
Just goes to show how out of touch with reality Matthew became in his final months and especially those final weeks.
It went from him being targeted by a cult since birth to him being targeted by some combination of The Matrix and The Truman Show as the only human in an AI simulation.
He just thought those cops were “containment theater” to discourage him from going back to Flora’s house and it wouldn’t escalate any further. He felt emboldened by the lack of consequences for making death threats towards his family and saw it as “proof” that whoever runs the simulation wasn’t actually going to stop him about all of that – his threats did have consequences.
Well he got a “shocking” surprise. The gears of justice just take time to turn.
